Lesser Key
Lesser Key
(Sumerian Records)
Lesser Key turns out to be quite the handy EP if you’re craving good, old rock music. Opening on one its highlights, “Intercession,” the four piece easily create a dark and oddly comforting world that is familiar, but desired. As the six tracks play through, the listener is exposed to a brooding landscape that works well in the background and at the forefront. While “Intercession” is certainly a top dog to be played here, there’s also the thoroughly memorable chorus of “Parallels” to be taken into consideration. And, even though it is merely an instrumental, “Labile” closes the album just right. Lesser Key could easily become the next Staind. Watch these guys. (Nathaniel Lay)
